Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur National Digital Library Project Recruitment for the post of Junior Project Officer (Curation) and Senior Project Officer / Project Officer (Curation)

Post (पद): Junior Project Officer - Curation

No of posts( रिक्तियों की संख्या ): 09 (Nine) 

Educational Qualification( शैक्षिक आवश्यकता ): Masters in any subject or 1st Class Bachelors (Honors) in natural or mathematical science or computational science or equivalent. Excellent analytical ability essential. Familiarity with metadata annotation and curation for development of a digital library/repository will be an advantage.

Experience(अनुभव): 

1 year’s hands-on experience in some of the followings: 

i) Metadata standards and schemas (Generic and Domain-specific) 

ii) Metadata annotation & curation for a digital library/repository 

iii) DDC/LCC/LCSH/MeSH Classification Scheme o MARC/SIP/AIP/XML data handling 

iv) Harvesting Institutional Digital Repository 

v) Linux environment/commands, TeamViewer setup, MS-Word, Excel and Power Point 

Or 

1 year’s working experience in reputed library.

Or 

Fresher in natural or mathematical science or computational science or equivalent with high academic achievement and competence in Linux environment/commands, TeamViewer setup, MS-Word, Excel and Power Point.

Posting ( स्थान): Kharagpur or Kolkata or Guwahati

Pay( वेतन ):₹20,000 (depending upon qualification & experience)
Benefits(सुविधाएं): House Rent Allowance over and above consolidated salary as per Central Government norm if posted at Kolkata or Guwahati. Accommodation provided if posted at Kharagpur.

Post (पद): Senior Project Officer / Project Officer - Curation
No of posts( रिक्तियों की संख्या ): 14 (Fourteen) 

Educational Qualification( शैक्षिक आवश्यकता ): Masters in any subject or Bachelors (Honors) in natural or mathematical science or computational science or equivalent. Excellent analytical ability essential. Familiarity with metadata annotation and curation for development of a digital library/repository preferred.

Experience(अनुभव): 

Senior Project Officer-Curation: 5 years in relevant activities or 4 years if qualification is in natural or mathematical science or computational science or equivalent and hands-on experience in metadata annotation and curation for a digital library/repository using services programmers 
Project Officer-Curation: 3 years in relevant activities or 2 years if qualification is in natural or mathematical science or computational science or equivalent and hands-on experience in metadata annotation and curation for a digital library/repository using services programmers 
Hands-on experience in a digital library/repository in some of the followings: 
i) Metadata standards and schemas (Generic and Domain-specific) 
ii) Large volume metadata annotation and curation for a digital library/repository using services programmers 
iii) DDC/LCC/LCSH/MeSH Classification Scheme 
iv) MARC/SIP/AIP/XML data handling o Harvesting Institutional Digital Repository
v) Linux environment/commands, TeamViewer setup, MS-Word, Excel and Power Point 
vi) Setting up Institutional Digital Repository with content management software like DSpace, EPrint, etc. 
vii) Planning, structuring and operations, coordination of large volume metadata annotation/curation work for a digital 
viii) Copyright issues for digital library/repository

Pay( वेतन ):Upto ₹35000 (depending upon qualification & experience)
